Funeral services for Ray Wendell Williams, age 60, of Roanoke, will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 1:00 PM from Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Whaley, Rev. Jeff Burns, and Rev. Shirley Meddick officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, July 19, 2015. Mr. Williams will lie in state one hour prior to services beginning on Monday. Mr. Williams passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015. Survivors include his wife, Katherine Messer Williams of Roanoke; his mother, Betty H. Williams of Roanoke; one daughter, Kim Loveless (husband, Paul) of Roanoke; one step-son, Jeffery Mitchell (wife, Robin) of Ephesus, GA; one granddaughter, Maegan Brooke Loveless of Roanoke; and one step-grandson, Brandon Mitchell of Ephesus, GA. Pallbearers will be Tony Yawn, Sr., Tony Moore, David Meddick, Harold Smith, Wayne Bassett, and Richard Laird. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Jordan, Pat Whaley, Will Armstrong, Steve Cole, Pete Holloway, Donnie Anthony, Larry Strain, and Cooper Hodge. A Randolph County native, Mr. Williams was born on October 31, 1954, the son of Ray Henry and Betty Hurley Williams. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Alabama Trucking Association, and Randolph County Drug Task Force. He was owner of WTW Enterprises and Head Monument Company. He was preceded in death by his father. Memorials may be floral or the family requests donations to Trinity Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Fund, 3501 U.S. 431, Roanoke, AL 36274.
